Golfer’s Elbow

Inflammation of the common tendon of the muscles which flex (bend) the fingers and thumb is common amongst golfers due to the fact that this tendon is stressed in making a golf swing. It is also a common injury in sports involving pitching or repetitive throwing of a ball. It can also be common amongst climbers, whose sport is very grip intensive.

Treatment will involve focus on pain relief, reduction in inflammation in the tendon and will also address the underlying cause/s of the injury, looking at technique in the sport or activity involved which may pre-dispose the patient to the injury.
